Constructive Individuals was founded in 1985 by Phil Bixby to offer design
and training services to self-builders. Phil continues to offer these services
from a practice based in York. In 1993 Simon Clark set up the London based
company to offer Constructive Individuals services in the South-East.
We have worked with self-build individuals and groups; spiritual, humanitarian,
and environmental organisations; local authorities; community and housing
associations; charities; and private companies.
Services we provide include Architectural services, training and consultancy
for self-build individuals and groups, and feasibility studies.We always design
to the highest environmental standards and with ecological sensitivity and
have much experience of integrating healthy and low-impact materials, pioneering
technologies and renewable energy systems into developments.
